Today, downtown Gainesville is the place for specialty
shopping & local dining. Boutiques and shops offer a wide
variety of goods and services including current fashion,
works by local artists custom jewelry, antiques, home
furnishing & decor and gifts of all kinds. All of this can be
found in the restored Victorian buildings surrounding our
beautiful restored Cooke County Courthouse square and
the historic downtown district. Gainesville Main Street
hold a Downtown Art Walk four times a year. The event
includes paintings, photography, pottery, painted acrylic
glass and textile items in the downtown stores and many
downtown merchants provide snacks and drinks for guests.

BUTTERFIELD STAGE PLAYERS COMMUNITY
THEATRE is housed in a former Carnegie Library
has been providing theatrical entertainment and
opportunities for local community members to be on
stage, or behind the scenes since 1979. They offer a
season of plays, youth theatre productions and classes,
touring shows, and much more all produced by
