The Santa Fe Depot was built in 1902 and restored in 2000
to current condition. It is now a museum and houses
memorabilia and exhibits from the famed Gainesville
Community Circus, Harvey House Restaurant, Coca-Cola
and railroad artifacts.

The Texas Travel Information Center in Gainesville is
one of eleven travel information centers operated by
the Texas Department of Transportation for the
convenience of the
traveling public. Uniformed, professional travel
counselors welcome visitors and provide a wealth of
free literature, information and suggestions to make
every Texas trip more pleasant.
The centers are open 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. daily and from
8
A.M. to 6 P.M. Memorial Day weekend through
Labor Day. The center is closed on New Year’s Day,
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and
Easter. All of the services are free.
